I was supposed to be working on a followup to my previous post about the show, Brother Husbands. What can I say, my mind has moved on. Sorry guys. It was a good show, and I plan to watch more of it. I think I like it because it is so different. Usually (almost always) when you have a show about nonmonogamy *COUGH* Sister Wives *COUGH, COUGH* it is about one guy with multiple girls. Sheesh, people, I’ve read the Bible, and this arrangement has been done to death. It’s old. Having a female as the main player and the breadwinner is new and fresh, and idea who’s time has come. It’s just more interesting.
Anyway, I started this post last night but fell asleep on the couch. I actually picked up one of these beautiful green cylinders of Kryptonite on my way home last night. Yes, Dolly Parton sweat, AKA, Mountian Dew. It’s a Tennessee tradition. Many a’ Tennessean has rotted their teeth out nursing these bad boys. Some people around these parts even fill their baby’s bottles up with the stuff. It is delicious and has one hell of a caffeine kick. Don’t worry, though. I have no plans on making Mountain Dew consumption a habit. I just haven’t had one in a while so I thought why the hell not? On the contrary, I am actually thinking about getting away from drinking soft drinks altogether, even on my cheat days. I’m tossing around the idea of replacing them with milk. It would be organic, and chocolate of course. I can imagine Denice looking at me with head tilted, saying, “…and that’s supposed to be better?”
Oh, our friend came through with the Lady Vol tickets, by the way. We have tickets for two games. Tomorrow we are going to see the Vols play Texas A&M. I can’t remember who’s playing in the other game. I’m sure we’ll have a good time. We always do.
That’s all for now, friends. More to come later.
My first day back at work was pretty uneventful. Getting up at the unholy hour of five was not much fun. The early bird gets the worm I guess. Denice took the car today, so we got to spend a little time together this morning. That’s always fun. On the days that she takes the car she drives and I ride shotgun. The drive is about thirty minutes long. I usually read the news headlines as we drive.
Lilly had her surgery today. She was only supposed to have dental surgery and spaying, but the vet discovered that her spleen was enlarged. It turned out that she had a tumor in her spleen, so they removed the whole thing. Apparently, dogs don’t need a spleen to live. The vet said that she will do just fine without it, so all is good.
One of Denice’s friends from church scored us some Lady Vols tickets. This Sunday we will be watching our girls do battle with Texas A&M. Should be fun.
I’m still absorbing every bit of information and media I can find online related to sociocracy. It is such an elegant system. I would really love to visit a community or organization that actively uses dynamic governance, to see it in action. The only one I have found so far is Earthaven Community in North Carolina. It’s a relatively short drive. I may plan a visit there sometime in the near future.
That should do it for tonight. Sweet dreams, Interwebs.
Greetings my mammalian friends. Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. Denice and I got back from South Carolina last night. We had a great time. The Lady Vols (currently unranked), crushed the South Carolina Game Cocks (#4) with brute force! It was a great game. I’m not really a sports person, but I do like watching women’s basketball. Denice is a big fan of basketball and sports in general.
The trip down was very relaxing. It took a little over four hours, and the first leg of the journey was through the Smokey Mountains. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground as we passed over. It was a stark difference from Columbia. The temperature there was in the sixties during the day. I felt like late spring.
The past few days I have gone a little off the rails with my protocol. It has been a festive time with Denice’s birthday and my vacation, so I have relaxed my adherence to the rules. I am guessing that I have gained a few pounds. I had predicted this lapse. I usually lose control for a little while whenever I am off work for any amount of time. I am going to try to get back on the wagon tomorrow. I will start out with getting a good session of the Wim Hoff Method done in the morning. I have eaten a lot of food over the past few days, so I could probably go a few days without eating if I want to. I’ll reevaluate that tomorrow.
That’s all for now my friends. Till tomorrow.
