DITL -Cleaning, Church, and Junk Food

It’s twenty minutes till midnight. I’m cutting it close, but I can’t let a day go by without getting a post in. It’s been over a month now since I committed to blogging every day. I have to say, writing daily has really been a neat experience. I’ve gotten a lot out of it, not the least of which is actually practicing some discipline in my life.

It’s been a laid back Saturday. Denice and I got some much needed cleaning in today. Our house goes through cycles of filth and cleanliness. We usually get caught up with the cleaning by Sunday, which is sort of our reset day for the week. It’s the day that we get all the grocery shopping done and get the laundry washed for the week to come. It’s also church day.

While it’s true that I don’t get out of church what I used to when I was a believer, I still participate in it because it is a way for me to connect with Denice and support her in what she likes to do. Plus, the people at our church are really nice. They also only have one service on Sundays, and that’s nice. Back when I was involved in my previous church, they had Sunday morning, night, and midweek services. It was nuts. Three times a week was a little extreme for me.

Oh, and today was ‘Fuck the Rules Day’ with my Slow Carb eating style, and I am really full and almost sick from eating junk all day. I started out with some leftover Pizza. That was nine o’clock in the morning, by the way. For lunch I had chicken nuggets and fries, and chased it with Dr. Pepper. Oh, and Peanut butter/chocolate balls for dessert. For dinner I had two cheese burgers, nachos and cheese, and cake for desert. It was a glutastical day. However, I am down another four pounds this week. Talk about having my cake and eating it too.

Well friends, I am going to hit the sack. Good night.

DITL – Weekend Eve

Hi my wonderful Internet friends. I am at a loss for something to write about tonight, so let’s do a little Day In The Life.

I woke up and it was Friday, and that’s always a great way to start the day. I stayed up too late last night. I’ve been doing that a lot this week. It makes it difficult to get up at the ungodly hour of five o’clock. It is fortunate that I don’t have to waste time making and eating breakfast. Intermittent fasting is so damn convenient.

Work was almost pleasant today. Like most Fridays, I did have to waste more time than usual in meetings, but the team and I were productive in spite of it. I finished up on time and headed home.

Denice and I had dinner with some friends from church. We went to a place called, ‘Sullivan’s.’ The food was really good. I got the old standby, a cheeseburger with fries. I have never really been a person to branch out and choose foods that I have never had before. Denice attempts to¬†pressure¬†encourage me to try new things, but I rarley do. I did try a spoonful of her creamed spininich, and it was pretty good. Maybe next time I’ll live a little and get my own.

We are home now. Denice is watching basketball and working on the budget (she loves to multitask). I am sitting on the couch, typing away, flanked by dogs. Tomorrow begins the weekend. Life is good.

DITL

Hi friends. I actually started a post on the various podcasts that I listen to, but it is turning out to be a bigger task than I had anticipated. I saved the draft, and will try to get that one finished up tomorrow. Something to look forward to, I guess.

For now let me get in a quick Day In The Life…

Today was pretty average. Work was work. I had a lot of energy today. I find myself choosing to do things in a physical way if possible. I will walk instead of using the powered equipment, run up the stairs, and be more active in general. I’m not trying to, I just feel good, so I do.

Intermittent fasting was very easy today. It has basically become my default way of being. It seems strange to me now to eat during the day. I have no desire for it anymore. And did I mention that it’s super convienent? Well, it is. I woke up late this morning, but didn’t have to rush because I didn’t “need” to eat breakfast.

Tonight, Denice and I ate spaghetti with meatballs and garlic toast. I also had a Dr. Pepper and a Nutter Butter ice cream cone. It was a very filling and enjoyable meal.

Denice is at choir rehearsal right now, and I am chilling on the couch with the dogs. In a few minutes I will do my Wim Hof breathing, and get a shower. I have been really consistent this week with the breathing exercises. I think they have a synergistic effect with the cold-showers and intermittent fasting.

Ok, that’s all for now. Till tomorrow.
